Frederick Samuel Upshall
June 8, 1945 – December 10, 2021
Fred Upshall, age 76, passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on December 10, 2021. Predeceased by parents Edward and Sadie Upshall, brother Don, sister Alma and son Freddie. Leaving to mourn with fond memories is his loving wife, Linda (nee Thorne), who he adored for 47 years. Fred will be forever missed by his children: Rodney (Judy) Wark, Ross (Trudy) Thorne, Sherry (Eric) Kendall and Harold (Jolyne) Upshall; and grandchildren: Rodney, Lori Lee, Natasha, Olivia, and Sara; 4 great grand children, and a very large circle of family and friends. He will also be sadly missed by his furry little companion, Rosie. Fred will always be remembered for his huge heart and his selflessness for helping others; his big, loud, and hearty laughs and of course, his stubbornness. He loved spending time with his family and always enjoyed a good game of darts or 120’s while sipping on a scatter cold one. A special thanks to all the staff in the ICU at the St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital. Your professionalism, support and compassion are truly appreciated. Visitation will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel in Chance Cove on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm; and on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 10:00am-12:00pm. Funeral service will follow at 2:00pm. Proof of vaccination will be required for both visitation and funeral service. Masks are mandatory. |

sending my heart felt condolences to all Fred’s Family and Friends. I worked with Fred for many years and I can’t say enough kind words to describe the man he was. Unfortunately due to illness on both our parts, we haven’t seen each other for a few years now. But not a day hasn’t gone by that I haven’t thought of him. May he rest in peace.
