• Martha Doris (Dos) Temple

  • It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the matriarch of the Temple family, a dear wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Martha Doris (Dos) Temple (December 5th, 1937) who passed peacefully away at her home on Thursday, April 21st at 4:10 am. surrounded by her loving family.

    Predeceased by her parents, Robert and Matilda Newhook, parents-in-law, Arthur and Dorcas Temple, son-in-law Kevin, brothers-in-law Levi, Cyril, and Jacob, and sisters-in-law Judy, Julie, and Pearl.

    Lovingly remembered and forever missed by her husband and best friend of 68 years, Clement Temple; her eight loving children, Christine, Robert (Velma), Janice, Lois (Rick), Judy (Keith), Roger (Cathy), Wesley (Wanda), and Jody (Nora); her 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, her two brothers, Wesley (Rosland) Newhook and Alf Newhook, sister in laws Marion White and Elsie Temple, as well as a large number of relatives and friends.

    The family would like to thank her amazing homecare workers Joanne Smith and Jacqui Crittenden, who quickly became part of our family.  We would also like to send a special thanks to Robyn from Eastern Health for all of her support.

    Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 12pm at Holloways Funeral Home in Whitbourne.  Immediately following, a celebration of her life will be held at Norman’s Cove Community Centre beginning at 2pm and is open for all family and friends to attend.

    She is leaving her family deeply saddened with a void that can never be filled.

    Condolences to her family Dos and Clem were the best of friends to my mom and Jack played many games of cards together went to the festival on the beach together ,she will be missed by all we loved her dearly RIP Dos and hugs to the family.
