It is with great sadness that we, the family of Norma Clara Winsor (Stuckless), announce her passing which
occurred peacefully at the Health Science Centre, St. John’s, NL on August 14th, 2025, at the age of 81.
Born in Little Bay Islands, Notre Dame Bay, NL on July 17th, 1944.
She was the daughter of the late Elsie Leah (Weir) and Norman Stuckless.
Raised from a young age by her beloved late Aunt and Uncle, Mary(Mom) (Dwyer) and Edward (Neddy) Stuckless.
She is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 60 years Jim Winsor of Whitbourne, NL, two children,
son Keith Winsor (Janet) and daughter Kelly Martens (Jason) both of Grande Prairie AB and the light of her
life; her four grandchildren Emily Winsor of Toronto ON, Hannah Martens, Blair Winsor and Seth Martens all of
Grande Prairie, AB. Her brother, Dawson Stuckless of St. John’s, NL and many nieces and nephews.
.
She is predeceased by her parents, beloved Mom and Neddy, sister Netta Stuckless, and
niece Shelley Stuckless.
She studied education at Memorial University College and taught for several years afterwards in Corner Brook
and Leading Tickles. She gave up teaching to dedicate her life to raising her children because family was
everything to her. Mom spent many years working for the community by volunteering for the local Lions
and Lioness Clubs; she was one of the first two female Lions members in the world. She also volunteered as
a Girl Scouts of Canada leader for several years. Mom was dedicated to her faith and was active in the United
Church of Canada for her entire life and was a long-standing member of the UCW. Her church family held a special
place in her heart, and she appreciated all the love and support she received from them over the years.
She loved to sew and poured her love into every stitch, sewing beautiful clothing and quilts for her beloved
family that they will treasure always. Mom loved her flowers and spent hours caring for the flowers inside and
outside her home. Mom had a great love of cooking and baking, and spent many hours in the kitchen.
Mom and Dad traveled across Canada many times to spend time with their children and
grandchildren.
We would like to thank all the Doctors and Nurses from both the Health Science Centre and Chancellor Park
who took such good care of Norma over the past several months. You will never know how much it meant to us.
And to all the many visitors who took the time to stop by for a chat and to brighten her day, we thank you.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity United Church, Blaketown, NL.
Following the service, friends and family are invited to a time of fellowship and sharing of memories.
Donations in Norma’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice

We are sending our deepest condolences to Papa Winsor, Keith, Kelly & families.
Kelly & I grew up together, and have been lifelong friends since we were babies! I have so many wonderful memories of spending time at Kelly’s especially when we were younger! Mama Norma was famous for her baking and offering up a delicious banana chocolate chip muffin! She also had quite a green thumb & loved to marvel and offer slips of her plants! Unfortunately I did not have the same green thumb & never managed to keep anything she gave me alive!! Poor plants!
She was a very special person who will be deeply missed. 🩷
