Jerry Douglas Newhook (June 22, 1927 – January 1, 2026 (98 years)

It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved
Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.
Predeceased by; Wife Hilda (Hefferd) Newhook; parents: James and Minnie
Newhook; Parents-in-law: Emmanuel and Susan Hefferd
Daughter: Susan Newhook; Grandson: Justin King; Brother: Bill Newhook;
Sisters: Bessie Newhook, Beatric Haris, Joanna Cooper, Eileen Reid; brothers
and sisters in law; Barb’s father Bill Newhook.
Leaving to mourn with broken hearts; partner Barb Fahey, her mother
Marcella; Children: Florence (Harvey), Gloria (Kenneth), David (Lela), Wenda
(Ray), Junior (Sandra), Clyde, Paul (Kate) Fahey, Mark (Sandy) Fahey, 20
grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren. Brother; Edward (Bonnie) Newhook,
Sisters; Iris Higdon, Sylvia Rowe, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is to be held at the Good Shepard Church in Normans Cove on
Saturday January 3rd 2:00-8:00pm for family and friends. Funeral service to be
held on Sunday January 4th at 2:00pm at the Good Sheppard Church.
A special thank you to the nursing staff at the Health Science Centre, 5 North
A and the Placentia Health Centre for their compassion and care for dad
Interment to follow the service at the Anglican Cemetery.
Donations can be made to the Good Sheppard Church tower fund in memory
of Douglas Newhook

  1. Sincerely condolences to the whole family at this sad time. I have many wonderful memories of conversations with Doug that included lots of stories and laughter. His love of people was always obvious. He will certainly be missed but will leave numerous treasured moments in the memories of those left.
