Terrence Joseph Power
August 17, 1940 – August 17, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our brother, Terrence on his 86th birthday.
Predeceased by his parents, James and Bridget Power, infant sister Mary Ellen, and brother Humphrey (Kitty, deceased). Also nephews Ronald Power, Shawn Power, and Richard Cull.
He leaves to mourn his siblings, Arthur, James, Jr. (Kathy), Bernard (Mavis), Donald, David (Judy), Dennis (Janet), Rosemary (Darwen), Phillip (Susan), and Alphonsus. As well as a long list of neices, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Terrence spent 6 years of his younger life in the Canadian Armed Forces as a member of the Royal Canadian Signal Corp. Later he moved to the Yukon Territory where he worked for various companies and later worked for the Yukon Government where he operated heavey equipment until he retired. He met many of his best buddies during this time especially Neil Freake. In his later years he returned to Chaple Arm and finally to Placentia.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at the Beachside Manor in Placentia where he stayed for his last years. Our thanks also for the care at the Placentia Hospital as well as special thanks to Jim and Bess Pretty for their attention and visits to see him.
Our brother Terrence has been cremated and is presently held at Holloway’s Funeral Home in Whitbourne. There will be no visitations and no church services. There will be a Mass held in Terrence’s name at a later date to be followed by a family burial.

So sorry to hear of Terry’s passing! We spent some good times with him and will miss him dearly. Was hoping to get to see him when we went to NL in September. Sincere condolences to all his family and friends!
Sorry for your loss! I was a member of the power family for 7 years and had the pleasure of knowing Terry. He was a great guy, just like the entire family.

I have fond memories of Terrance from my childhood.
TV was a new thing not very many had one , Dad bought one from Frank Power .
Our house became the gathering place to watch it .
Especially on Friday evenings when the wrestling came on .
Terrance was one of the first ones to arrive. We would watch out the window to see who was coming in our road , they would have to be coming to our house because we were the only house there . We would try to guess who it was from far away .most times it was Terrance ,,my brother Art was good friends plus we were cousins .
Terrance always had a joke or two for us younger kids . He knew all the wrestlers by name and would tell us who was good and who were bad ..
RIP Terrance and maybe you’ll meet up with some of your favourite wrestlers ..
