Morris Gordon Thorne, age 76 of Broad Cove passed away peacefully in Placentia on August 29, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
Born on July 25th, 1950 Morris was the son of the late Cecil and Emily Thorne. Dad went on to build a fulfilling life, known by all for his strong character, hard work , and dedication to his family.
As a father, Morris was a guiding light, a constant source of support, and deeply devoted to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He took great pride in watching his family grow and sharing their milestones.
Morris is survived by his children Desie (Lorraine) and Renee (Kurt). His grandchildren Kristen (Colin), Dustin, Jenesta (Cole), Logan, and Jakob. As well as his great grandchildren, the center of his world, Paisley, Mason, Arizona, and Bridger.
His siblings Cyril (Joyce), Jim (Betty), Calvin (Evelyn),, Eric (Andrea), Lillian (Roy), Elaine (Billy), Jean (Kim), sister in law Beatrice Thorne, and a large number of nieces and nephews.
Morris is predeceased by his son Morris Lee Thorne, Mother of his children Shelia Thorne, his wife Yvonne Thorne, as well as his brothers Lewis Pitcher and Cecil Thorne (Jr.)
At Morris’s request cremation has taken place. There will be a private family service at a later date.
You were our anchor, our steady guide walking through life right by our side. A daughter’s protector, a son’s best friend with a love so deep it will never end. Rest easy Pa, your work is done. Loved forever by your daughter and son.
