Marjorie Smith

Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on July 10th, age 96 years.

Predeceased by her parents Jacob and Mildred Smith, two sisters Marion (Lloyd) Barrett, Susie (James)
Mercer. Six brothers Eugene (Mary), Cyril (Evelyn), Jacob (Thelma), Kenneth (Mildred), Ernest
(Julia), and Norman (Bernice).

Leaving to mourn two sisters Viola (Cyril deceased) and Muriel (Stirling deceased).  1 brother Winston (June). Also leaving to mourn a large
circle of nieces, nephews, cousins & other relatives, also many friends through a long teaching career and an active church work.

Resting at The Good Shepherd Anglican  Church, Norman’s Cove. Visitation on Monday July 14th from 2
– 4 pm. Funeral service on Tuesday July 15th at 2 pm. Inurnment to follow at the Anglican
Cemetery, Norman’s Cove.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The
Good Shepherd Anglican Church Memorial Fund.

    Our sincere condolences to Marjorie’s family on her death. When I was Rector of the Parish of the Holy Spirit I came to experience the involvement of Marjorie in her ministry of music. She was our regular organist and offered that ministry in sincerity and faith. My heart and faith was uplifted as she played the inspiring hymns that enabled our worship to be uplifting and blest.
    Her leadership in the field of education touched many student and enable them to prepare and pursue their chosen careers.
    I give God thanks for allowing us to cross paths with Marjorie and to be blest by her friendship and leadership in the Church of God.
    May she now rest in the nearer presence of God

    My sincere condolences on the passing of your sister. I remember meeting Marjorie many times at St. Mary’s church when she would visit you in St. John’s. May she rest in peace.

  4. My condolences to Marjorie’s family. I know Marjorie was an outstanding member of her community as both a teacher and church worker. Her kindness will be remembered. I have fond memories of visiting her at her home in Norman’s Cove..
    Hers was a life lived well.

    Condolences and sincere prayers are being sent to you today as you travel through this very sad journey.
    I only met Marjorie once but I heard plenty of positive things about her from her good friend Josie. After reading all the comments she was surely a very humble gentle soul whose earthly presence will certainly be missed, leaving behind her treasured memories to keep her forever alive in all of your hearts, soul and mind.
