OCTOBER 10, 1953 – SEPTEMBER 21, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wade White of Long Cove. He passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Wade is pre-deceased by his mother and father Gladys and Richard, and his in-laws Frances and Harry Cooper. Born to a life filled with adventure and love, Wade was a Husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family.
Wade leaves behind, with fond and loving memories, his wife, Norma of 49 years. His two sons; Bernell and Bryan, special daughter in law Christina and the light of his life, “Poppy’s pride and joys,” Harry, Jack and Lucy. His brother Elwood (Jean), and two sisters; Vera (Frank) Ennis and Sonya (Darryl) Piercey, nieces and nephews as well as his friends and extended family.
Wade started his career in the pool industry in 1978 as a remarkably hardworking man whose dedication shaped every aspect of his life. In 1989, with little more than determination and a vision, he built his business, Clearwater Pools, from the ground up. Through years of tireless effort, and hard work, Wade poured his heart and soul into the company, growing it into something he was truly proud of. Along the way, he met countless friends and colleagues, many of whom became like family. Today, Clearwater Pools stands not only as a successful business, but as a legacy Wade leaves in the hands of his two sons.
Outside of work, Wade found joy in the simple and meaningful things. In his younger years, he loved curling—both watching the sport and playing it for fun. He spent 25 years as a volunteer firefighter with the NCLC fire department. He was deeply devoted to his family, and nothing brought him more happiness than time spent with his grandchildren. Wade and Norma shared a love of travel, often exploring new places with close friends by their side. Camping was one of Wade’s greatest passions, he spent 39 summers at Pippy Park, creating memories that became part of the family’s story – and in recent years he was also able to share that joy with his grandchildren.
A special thank you to the nurses and staff on 4NB for the excellent care and kindness you have shown us over the last 8 years. Thank you to all the doctors on Wades team, especially Dr. Darrell Boone, and Dr. Rod Martin for your special friendship.
At Wade’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation at Holloway’s funeral home on Wednesday, September 24th 2-4 & 7-9, Visitation at Church of The Good Shepard in Normans Cove on Thursday, September 25th 4-8. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 26th at 1pm. Interment to follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Wades memory can be made to Ronald McDonald House or Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Rest in peace Wade you were a wonderful man.
Norma Bernell Bryan and Family
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
Death leaves a heartache noone can heal.
Love leaves us memories noone can steal.
God bless you all.
Norma,Bryan,Bernell and family so sorry to hear of Wade’s passing. We had lots of great chats in the spring and fall when we dropped by to pick up pool supplies. Wade and Keith always had a good laugh about our first year we purchased our pool. Wade said that only a bayman would buy a pool in a snow storm. Imagine that was 26 years ago. We will always cherish the chats and the welcome smiles. Hold on to your good memories,I am sure there are many. May the love of family and friends help you through this sad time. Sending love and hugs to all

Thelma and I are so sad to hear of Wade’s passing. It’s incredible to think we’ve known each other for over 30 years. Wade’s and Norma’s work ethic, integrity and passion has been a true testament to the legacy he created for his family who all worked side by side; even the boys at a young age; to make your business the success it is today.
Rest in Peace Wade, it was our great pleasure to have known you!!!!
Norma and family,
I am saddened to read this evening the obituary of Wade.
A few years ago, he was a very sick patient at the HSC and was there for a very long time. He recovered and went back to work and camping at Pippy Park.
It was a joy and privilege to ministered to you and him during his time at the hospital.
I have thought about you both many times over the past few years.
My heart goes out to you and praying God our Father will strengthen you and your family at this time.
Deepest sympathy on your loss.
Wade, is now in the palm of our heavenly Father’s hand. No more pain or suffering. Free as the birds.

I have dealt with Wade and Clearwater Pools for many years. Wade was a true professional a soft spoken gentleman . It was just a couple of years ago when I had a new lined installed Wade and his boys handled the job very professionally, Wade even dropped back after supper to check on the re filling and got down in the pool to assure the lining was positioned correctly.
I always sought his advise with my pool problems over the years and recall speaking with him at the Heaths Sciences and just this summer we had a great conversation at the store.
I will miss our conversations and the industry has lost a great man .
Norma, Bernell, Bryan and family,

So sorry to hear such sad news. Sending love and hugs to you Norma, Bernell and Bryan as well as Jean, Straw and the rest of the family.
Wade, you were clearly a man of many passions – camping, pools, and apparently, making friends! Its heartwarming to see how many people chatted with you over pool supplies. Who knew fixing a pool liner could lead to such lasting friendships? Your legacy of good humour and kindness will definitely be missed. Its funny how even a stormy snow day pool purchase becomes a cherished memory. May your family find comfort in their many memories of you. Rest in peace, Wade!ai watermark removal
