November 25, 1956 – December 11, 2025
Chris, born in Whitbourne on November 25, 1956, passed peacefully at Carbonear General Hospital on December 11, 2025, surrounded by love.
She was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Jane Barrett; her sisters, Holly, Sylvia, Provie and Daffodil; and her great-grandchild, Ian Clarke.
Left with cherished memories are her devoted husband, Fred; her beloved children, Cathy (Mark), Samantha (Rob), Lindsay (Cole), and Eanie (Rich); her grandchildren, Ethan, Alex, Coady (Chantelle), and Dakota; and her great-grandchild, Myles. She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters Lil and Barb; brothers John, Larry, Rick, and Paul; close friend and niece Allison, and many other relatives and friends whose lives she touched.
Chris was a loving and devoted mother and wife, who took great pride in her children and grandchildren. She cherished watching them grow into the remarkable individuals they became and celebrated each of their achievements with joy.
She treasured her annual trips to Alberta, always captivated by the breathtaking beauty of Banff and standing in awe of the mountains on every visit. She found happiness in the simple moments, especially her Sunday drives with her husband, which she truly cherished. She also eagerly anticipated her monthly girls trips with her sisters, moments filled with laughter and memories. Chris especially enjoyed any opportunity to watch her grandchildren, Ethan and Alex, play hockey, taking pride and joy in every moment.
Though Chris bravely battled cancer, she refused to let her diagnosis define her. She continued to live life fully, embracing the things she loved most and sharing laughter and valued moments with her children right up until her final days.
Chris will be remembered for her strength, warmth, love of family, and enduring spirit. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral details and celebration of life will be shared at a later time.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Christine Lynch Memorial Fund at Holloway’s Funeral Home.
