  • JONES,  Ada, (nee Sheppard ) . November 29, 1924  –  November 29, 2016. Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, November 29th at Carbonear General Hospital, Ada Jones of Whitbourne on her 92nd Birthday.
    Predeceased by her husband, Olaf; daughter; Tina daughter-in-law, Karen.
    Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her 8 sons: Wayne (Maureen),  Bob (Lorraine), Olaf (Heather), Derrick (Norma), Gordon, Calvin (Kim), Mark (Janis), John (Loretta), 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a large circle of family and friends.
    Resting at Holloway’s Funeral Home, Whitbourne. Visitation on Wednesday, November 30 at 2:00 – 9:30 pm. Thursday. December 1, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Funeral Service will be  held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, at 2:00 pm.  Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Whitbourne. Donations in Ada’s Memory may be made to the Anglican Cemetery Fund, Whitbourne.

    Thinking of you all with much love and many fond memories of your mom. We had some laughs and great conversations over the years, most of them just before Canada Day and Remembrance Day, when she would lay a wreath or a beautiful little bouquet of flowers at the war memorial. As years past and she wasn't able to attend, I was more than honored when she would ask me to lay the wreath on her behalf. I didn't get to see her much (my loss for sure) but she is someone that will always have a special place in my heart xx
