  • NEWHOOK, Matilda B., Passed peacefully away at the Shag Rock Manor on February 24, 2018 Matilda B. Newhook of Long Cove age 97 years.

    Predeceased by husband Thedore Newhook. Parents Benjamin & Melinda Warren, grandson Dennis Hart, 3 sisters & 4 brothers. Leaving to mourn with
    fond and loving memories to celebrate her life with thanksgiving; son Ernest (Ernie) Newhook ( friend Josie), daughter Winnie (Bill) Hart, sister Gladys Cooper, sisters-in-law, Bessie Newhook, Rosalyn (Morgan) Upshall, special nephew Harry ( Christina) Hunt and his family, Grandchildren; David, Charllne, Billy Jr. 6 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives & friends. Friends and staff at Shag Rock Manor, Whiteway where she resided since 2010.

    Resting at Holloway’s Funeral Home, Whitbourne. Visitation, Monday, Feb 26, from 10:00 am – 9:00 pm. Tuesday, Feb. 27, from 10:00 – 12:00. The Funeral
    service will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the Good Shepherd Anglican Church, Norman’s Cove. Interment to follow at the Anglican
    Cemetery, Norman’s Cove.

    No flowers by request. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Daffodil House.

    So sorry to hear of Aunt Tillie's passing. Condolences to her family, especially her sister Aunt Glady's Cooper. Sorry I cannot be there because I am in Florida. My heart is certainly with all my family. Theresa Warren Daughter of her brother John.

    Deepest sympathy to her Daughter and her son and their family's , Aunt Tilly will be missed, was sure looking forward to seeing her when i came home this summer . my MOM will be glad to see her sister, rest now Aunt Tilly Fly with the Angles Margaret,

    To all of Tilleys family, So sorry for your loss. It was a pleasure to help care for Tilley at the Manor. She was a beautiful lady to care for, always with a smile. We will miss her dearly. Prayers to you all Kathy

    Sorry to hear about Aunt Tillie. Have lots of memories of her coming to moms with Nan (Elizabeth). Sweet sweet lady.
