  • It is with heavy hearts and many fond memories we announce the passing of our loved one, William J. Thorne on Friday, June 15, 2018, age 76 years. Predeceased by parents Joseph and Emma Thorne, father-in-law John Jarvis, brothers and sister-in-laws Sidney and Rose, Edmund and Ruby, sister and brother-in-law Dorcas and Roland Rowe, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Herbert and Edna Jarvis.
    Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 54 years Ethel, daughter Ruth Reid (Murdock) Cambridge, ON; sons Darren (Joanne) Thornlea; William (Colleen) Cambridge, ON; Craig (Tina) Cambridge, ON; grandchildren Byron Reid (Marissa) and Travis Reid (Lindsay); Zachary and Alexandria Thorne; Joshua, Cassandra and Abigail Thorne; Sherisa Simao (Mario), Chelsea Woo (Brian), Jordan and Tinisha Thorne. Great grandchildren Walker and Aurora Reid, Paisley Reid, Marissa and Mariah Simao and Faith Woo. Brothers and sisters-in-law Eric and Phoebe, Thomas and Marjorie, sister Minnie; mother-in-law Theresa Jarvis; brothers-in-law Wallace Jarvis (Phyllis), Gordan Jarvis (Doris), Norm Jarvis (Frances), sisters-in-law Jessie Hearn (Thomas), Hilda Fahey (Terry), Carol Reid (Doug). Also lovingly remembered by a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in him memory may be made to Faith United Church Cemetery Fund, Thornlea.
    Visitation to take place from Faith United Church, Thornlea as follows:
    Sunday, June 17 7-9pm
    Monday, June 18 2-4, 7-9pm
    Funeral service to take place Tuesday, June 19 at 2pm

    No words can express the sadness we feel by Uncle Bill’s passing. Uncle Bill was kind, welcoming and genuine. I’m glad for the time I knew him and the fun times we had together. I was very lucky to have him and Aunt Ethel in my life. Regards to Aunt Ethel, Ruth, Darren, Craig and all your family at this tough time.
