  • Margaret Norman, On September 13, 2018 the world lost a big heart and heaven gained a beautiful soul. Margaret Norman (nee Jackman) at the age of 69 took her last breath surrounded by much love while waiting in the wings to greet her home were her father Edward Jackman (1984), mother Rose Jackman (1993), mother-in-law Margaret Norman (1994), and father-in-law Mark Norman (1996). Left to honour her life is her husband of 49 years Gerry, her children Kim (Rob) Denis and Craig. Also her three grandsons Gregory, Luc, and Kyle, who were the center of her life along with her two great granddaughters Emily and Haleigh. She will be forever remembered by her brother Peter Jackman (pre-deceased Gloria), sister Fran Walsh (pre-deceased Harvey), and in-laws Mark (Monnie) Norman, Merrill (Donna) Norman, Yvonne (Pius) Greene, Morris (Delores) Norman, Grace (Ted) King, and Maureen Norman. Also many extended family and friends. At her request, cremation has taken place and family invite relatives and friends to visit on Friday, September 21, 2018 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Long Harbour between 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service to be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at St. Francis Xavier Church at 11 am with a reception to follow to the Long Harbour Community Centre. In lieu of flowers, she asked that donations be made to the Gathering Place. Although we have heavy hearts by her passing, we remember her amazing sense of humour and genuine affection for people through our tears.

Gerry, Kim and family, I was shocked and so sad to hear that Marg has passed away. When I lived in Long Harbour with my Mom and Dad she was a regular visitor, she was highly thought of by both Mom and Dad. My two girls loved her, how could you not, she was always so jolly. I have Christmas stockings that she knit for my girls, they will always be a happy reminder of her now.

To Marg's Family, so shocked and saddened to hear of Marg's passing. Please accept my condolences. Marg got me through many a long drive from Fort McMurray to Suncor many years ago. We laughed so much on the drive every day. Through long days and snowy dark evenings. One morning we drove her truck she showed up at my house complaining about the dog barking in the neighbourhood, turns out it was my dog. We laughed the entire drive with Marg apologizing the entire way. May your memories offer you comfort at this difficult time.
