  • It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret George (Pretty), age 72,  announces her sudden passing at the Dr. Leonard A Miller Centre on Tuesday July 9 after a brief illness. Predeceased by husband David George, parents Leonard and Flora Pretty, brothers Donald, Harold, Kevin, and Aiden, sister Nadine.
    Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are sisters Shirley Rose, Patricia Thorne (Adolphus), Cynthia Barrett (Mike), brother Derrick (Andrea),  and a large number of extended family and friends. Marg enjoyed caring for others and was a mother figure to many nieces and nephews who will also miss her greatly.
    Resting at Holloway”s Funeral Home, Whitbourne NL. Visitation Wednesday July 10:  7:00 to 9:00, Thursday July 11 from  10:00 to 9:00. Funeral Service to be held Friday July 12 at  2:00 pm from Trinity United Church , Blaketown. Interment at the United Church Cemetery, Whitbourne.

    To the Pretty Family Blessings, Peace and Love to Cynthia, Derrick, Shirley and Patricia and families on your sister, Marge's departure from this world to be joined with your loved ones in eternity. If my memory serves me correctly, it was your sister, Marge who walked in from the Markland hospital with my sister, Sally, when I was probably in grade 9. They came with a cosmetic bag of stuff and gave me a makeover - Eyeliner, lipstick, face power, nail polish, the whole kit and caboodle. After all of their hard work, Dad said, "Child, go wash that stuff off. They painted you up like a barndoor" My thoughts and prayers are with you at this challenging time.

    To Cynth, and all the family. We are so sorry for your loss. When we were fighting to save the school on numerous occasions, I could always look forward to a call from Marg, with words of encouragement to pass on to the group, words that I certainly did pass on and words that we remembered each time. She was a strong woman and I'm sure will be missed by people from near and far, too many to count. ❤️ A special lady for sure.
