  • It is with great sadness that we the family of Sylvia Gilbert(nee Gosse) announce her peaceful passing at Meadow Creek Retirement Home, on Monday, November 13th, 2023, at the age of 82.

    Leaving to mourn with fond and cherished memories, Husband of 63 yrs, Fred, Son Terry(Joan), Elaine(Dean) and grandson Joshua, sisters Phyllis (John) and Rita; as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

     

    Sylvia lived a life filled with many social activities, specifically her commitment, dedication and  devotion to St. John The Baptist Church of Whitbourne. She will be missed by family, friends and all that had the pleasure of knowing her.

    Resting at Holloways Funeral Home, Whitbourne.

    Cremation has taken place and Visitation from all those who wish to attend is Sunday, November 19,2023  2pm -5pm and 7pm-9pm.

    A celebration of life and remembrance will be held on Monday, November 20,2023 at ST. John The Baptist, Whitbourne, at 2pm. Interment will take place at the Anglican church cemetery at a later date.

    Rest easy, we will love and miss you forever. Terry, Joan, Elaine, Dean ,Joshua, Nathan, and the love of her life Fred. xo

    So sorry to hear of Aunt Sylvia's passing. She was a cherished aunt and dearly loved by all of the family. She is not suffering anymore and she has joined the heavenly choir. Jean and all the rest of the family have embraced her once again! RIP

    To: The Gilbert/Gosse families: So sorry to hear of Sylvia's passing. She was a friendly person whom I will always remember as having great devotion to her church in particular the ACW and church choir. I remember her love for singing as she loved being a part of the community choir as well. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. RIP Sylvia. Sincerest condolences. We know she is resting in the Arms of her Saviour whom she loved.We have many fond memories of doing work around the church and social Center.     Fred and adult children, Terry and Elaine, and your families let me express my sincere condolence to you at this time of grief. We all experience an end of life of someone we know and cherish and it never gets easy. Sylvia served her family, her Church and her Community well and we gather comfort and solace: "well done, thou good and faithful servant......". Rest in peace, Sylvia.

    Fred and Family, I was saddened to hear of Sylvia's passing. I have many find memories of her while I was in Whitbourne. I'll never forget her kindness and hospitality. During this difficult time, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

    I was so saddened to hear of dear Sylvia’s passing . She was a great friend to me , and certainly to all of the ladies who sang in our community and church choirs through the years. It was a great pleasure to share in part of her life . My Sincere condolences to Fred , his children and their families, , and to her sister Phyllis and extended families.
