  • Alfred James Piercey, age 88, of Long Cove, passed away peacefully at Carbonear General Hospital on December 14th, 2023. He was born on November 16th, 1935.

    Predeceased by his loving wife, Marie Elizabeth Piercey and daughter Tena Higdon (Piercey).

    Alfred was a man who was dearly loved by all who knew him. He was hard-working, caring and very comical. He was always telling jokes and tried to get a smile from everyone around him. He will be deeply missed.

    Alfred loved his family more than anything. Leaving to mourn with his loving and heartwarming memories were his children Violetta (Garry), Woodrow (Violet), Valerie (Danny), Mike (Marg), Tena (survived by husband Pleman), Craig (Liz), Ann (Nelson), Chris (Chan), Shane (Marsha), and Jamie (Kim).

    He will be cherished by his Nieces and Nephews, Grandchildren,  Great Grandchildren,  Great Great Grandchildren, and the rest of the family.

    Visitation at Holloway’s Funeral Home, Whitbourne on Monday, December 18th at 2:00 – 4:00  and 7:00 – 9:00 pm .

    He may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.

    May he rest in peace.

    You will never be forgotten poppy,I think about all the good times we spent together you made me laugh all the time and made me feel loved I no I miss your big breakfasts and jelly with custard Christmas time I would look forward to that loltell we meet again I will miss you so much love you poppy.

    We are saddened to hear of Uncle Alf's passing. I have fond memories of going to Long Cove with Mom, his sister Elsie, and Dad, Charlie, to visit him and Aunt Marie. As well as them visiting us in Shearstown. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all including Uncle Alf's remaining sisters and brother. God Bless and take good care.

    Puppy, there's nothing that I could think ever bad about you ,You were the Most kind , Loving ,caring poppy that I could ever ask for. I miss going to the beach having Lobster And muscle boil ups. I miss all of us grandkids Lipsings The locomotion at your parties on the weekend. As I got older.I definitely miss kicking YOUR butt in a good game of darts. Okay, maybe it was the other way around , But most of all I just miss not having you around anymore.We had so much fun Wonderful Memories with you and Nanny true Out the years. So happy You could finally rest in piece With each other.Love you So much with all my heart.
